The Place Located along Teck Chye Terrace in Serangoon, Kaiyo Sushi & Grill is relatively under the radar even though it has been opened for close to 10 months. This stretch of shophouse has quite a number of restaurants, including Two Bakers. Kaiyo is a casual Japanese restaurant with a casual and open setting, as I managed to check out the space while I collected my orders during the circuit breaker period. The Food The restaurant is helmed by an experience Japanese chef and the menu is extensive. There are various options for Sashimi, Chirashi bowls, Nigiri Sushi and a variety of robatayaki and fried dishes. For their takeaway menu this CB period, I had the Chirashi Don (S$22) and it also comes with a complimentary Chawanmushi and Miso Soup. For the price, the portion is good value and I find that the quality of the sashimi here is fresh, to say the least. Good value to satisfy that Chirashi Don craving, and there is frankly not many good Japanese food options in the North-East of Singapore.
