The Place Located at the basement of the ultimate learning mall in Singapore, Guan Dynasty opened at Novena’s United Square on May this year. From the team behind the popular Roasted Duck chain, Guan Chee Hong Kong Roasted Duck, originally from Hougang Avenue 1, which now serves up their roasted meats across 10 locations islandwide. Guan Dynasty is the group’s first venture into the restaurant business, and the new concept already has some early wins with its clear culinary directions focusing on traditional Cantonese food, and a well-conceptualised interior. Light brown wood panels, with bright colours, the restaurant appeals to both casual family meals and informal gatherings. For parents waiting for their young ones to finish their weekend classes, this is a perfect place to savour some dim sum and sip some Chinese tea. The Food Hong Kong Roast and Dim Sum are the main highlights of Guan Dynasty, although the menu is rather extensive during our visit, and if I may add, too extensive.
