The Place Helmed by ex-Crystal Jade chef Chef Chan Wing Kin, Chef Kin Wanton Noodle opened in September at Yishun Street 61 Blk 632 with people standing in line for two hours for their Wanton Noodles, Beef Brisket Noodles, and more. I didn’t manage to head down to Yishun, but had the chance to visit their second outlet in Bedok at Blk 59 New Upper Changi Road. There will subsequently be a third outlet opening at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 on 14 December 2021. The Bedok outlet is located in a newly opened coffeeshop which was very busy even during a weekday lunch. As expected, there was a snaking queue at Chef Kin Wanton Noodle. The Food The signature is definitely the Wanton Noodles (S$5) and I had the soup version. For S$5, the portion is quite generous and the soup flavour does remind me of the ones I had in Hong Kong. The wanton itself has a good texture to the skin, and the shrimp is a decent size too with about five wantons. Made with creamy duck egg noodles, the noodle taste is also quite flavourful and it is very good value. Alternatively, there is also the HK Dumpling Noodle (S$5) where you can go for soup or dry.
