Food Review: Xiang Xiang Traditional Taiwanese Cuisine | Affordable, Authentic Taiwanese Restaurant In Bedok Point

The Place My love for Taiwanese food brought me to Xiang Xiang Traditional Taiwanese Cuisine, a casual Taiwanese eatery restaurant located in Bedok Point mall. The no-frills setting reminds me of those eateries in Taipei, and ordering is straight forward right at the cashier before you take a buzzer for your food to be ready. The restaurant is operated by a friendly team of Taiwanese crew and has been around in Bedok for a few years.   The Food The menu is equally straight forward, where you will spot familiar Taiwanese dishes at wallet friendly prices. My customary order is the Braised Minced Pork Rice (S$7.80) and for additional S$2 top up, you also get to enjoy the Meatballs Soup. The ‘Lu Rou Fan’ spots a homestyle flavour, not too salty and it is not as flavourful as others I had in Singapore like Eat 3 Bowls. That said, it is a still a good rendition, just that it leans towards a home recipe flavour.   Another popular dish here is the Crispy Chicken Strip Mee Sua (S$6.80), which is a decent portion for sharing. A comforting flavour and take on a classic Taiwanese dish, though it is quite watery in texture.
