The Place Located in Capella Singapore, one of the most beautiful hotels in Singapore, Cassia is a contemporary Cantonese restaurant which I have visited a few times but never quite got done to writing a review. The interior of Cassia is classy, designed by André Fu and there are private rooms and outdoor tables with a view of the Singapore skyline. The Food I visited the restaurant recently to redeem my GHA Discovery Lunch, which entitles me to a 5-Course Lunch with Tea Pairing. First course is a Dum Sum Platter of Steamed Siew Mai topped with Abalone, Steamed Charcoal Barbecue Arvinyo Omega 3 Pork Bun with Black Truffle, and the Boneless Roasted Duck with Fresh Mango and Lemon Sauce. My favourite is the Steamed Bun, which spots a tinge of truffle flavour. The trio of dim sum is paired with the Snow Chrysanthemum tea. Second course is the Double-Boiled Rich Chicken Broth with Live Prawn, Scallop Bamboo Pith and Shredded Yam. This soup is very luscious, which I like. Third course is the Steamed Cod Fish with Black Garlic and Light Soya Sauce, paired with the Bai Mu Dan & Melon tea. A good rendition of cod here, where the black garlic complements the fish very well. The last savoury course is the Pan-Fried Scallop, Fried Rice with Preserved Chinese Sausages. Not [...]
