The Place I struggle to find authentic and good Japanese sukiyaki restaurants in Singapore. After some research, I decided to check out Kuroya Sukiyaki, a few years old restaurant along Mohamed Sultan Road which specialises in sukiyaki. Kuroya Sukiyaki hails from Fukuoka, Japan, and there are only two outlets with one being in Japan and the other in Singapore. For a restaurant in Singapore to serve a specific type of Japanese cuisine (sukiyaki in this case), it should be good, right? Stepping into Kuroya Sukiyaki already evoked that first visual sense of being transported to Japan. The seating area is well-partitioned, where you have to remove your shoes to sit in the tatami-like setting. I like the ambience, as the slightly warm lighting is perfect for dinner yet it is not too dim like other restaurants. There are also regular tables if removing your shoes to dine is not an appealing offer. Towards the end of the restaurant, there is a counter seat setting where you can watch the chefs at work.
