Food Review: Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant At Geylang | Herbal Broth Specialty Brand Since 1946

The Place Located in a coffeeshop in Geylang, Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant has been around for over 70 years since 1946 and it was only my first time to try their food recently. A brief history about the brand – it was established in 1946 by Tan Ah Sai, Tan Ser Seng Herbs (Turtle) Restaurant began as a modest street stall along Orchard Road, serving turtle soup crafted from a traditional recipe brought from China. Today, the space is a spacious coffeeshop setting where the brand is known for their herbal soups, particularly Claypot Turtle Soup.  The Food Other than turtle soup, there are also other herbal broths such as Ginseng Black Chicken Soup, Collagen Fish Maw Soup and Cordyceps Chicken Soup.  I started with the signature Claypot Turtle Soup (S$28/small) which has a nice balance of herbal taste. Some health properties of this is that it is rich in collagen and antioxidants. You also get a complimentary refill of the turtle soup (why not) for one time.  I also enjoyed the Ginseng Black Chicken Soup (S$15) which is simmered with over 20 herbs.
