The Place Located along Ann Siang Road, Lolla restaurant is an established name which I revisited recently after a couple of years. Lolla has been in the spotlight this year as its current head chef Filipina chef Johanne Siy, was named Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ Asia’s Best Female Chef. Chef Johanne is the head chef of Lolla since 2020, and she used to work under Chef Andre in the now-defunct Restaurant Andre. Lolla is also Number 63 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023. The restaurant sits on a conservation shophouse, and the interior has not changed much from my last visit few years back. On level one, you will find a 14-seater counter seating which gives diners the best glimpse of the kitchen action. There is also a basement dining section with a long communal dining table that can accommodate 22 diners. The dining ambience is rustic, though it does show some signs of aging by now. The Food Lolla accepts reservations for both lunch and dinner, where it only offers a fixed price Tasting Menus on Fridays and Saturdays.
