The Place Healthy rice bowls are dominating the CBD scene with an increasingly health conscious crowd, with no exception for myself. Opened one month ago, Superbowl is not a bowling venue, but a casual Japanese restaurant located along Circular Road. The filthy stairway which leads up to level 3 where Superbowl is located was not the most welcoming sight and scent to greet us. The décor of the restaurant looks makeshift, with bare minimal furnishings. It also doesn’t help that the restaurant is rather dim during the day, with loud music playing in the background incongruent to the Japanese theme cuisine. The Food First impression wasn’t fantastic, but most importantly, does the food live up to expectations? Superbowl positions itself in serving fast, fresh and fun lunch; and may I also add a rather short opening hours. Expect nothing over S$20 nett on its menu, largely denominated by Japanese-style rice bowls (donburi). We had the Fish Bowl (S$10) and Salmon Bowl (S$10), where the former is a mix of salmon, tuna and swordfish sashimi.
