The Place Bangkok’s Chinatown (aka Yaowarat) is an exciting enclave to explore for its rich history and food options. Nai Ek Roll Noodle is one famous causal restaurant in the heart of Yaowarat which specialises in ‘guay chub’, also known as rolled rice noodles. Nai Ek Roll Noodle has been around for more than five decades, which started as a pushcart in Chinatown before its current space since 1989. Expect huge crowd in the evening, and the best time to visit with less waiting time is the morning as it is opened all day till late night. My most recent trip to Bangkok was my second visit to Nai Ek Roll Noodle. The space of Nai Ek Roll Noodle is causal and non-air-conditioned, with limited tables. The queue moves quite fast as most patrons simply order, eat and head off once they are done eating without lingering for too long. The open kitchen action excites me most as you can watch how the bowl of goodness is prepared freshly.
