The Place Caribbean cuisine is something less familiar to most Singaporeans (myself included) and Lime House East Coast seems like a perfect second location of the brand in the hip and diverse Katong enclave. Lime House first opened in Jiak Chuan Road, and its name is as such where “liming” is a Caribbean lingo for chilling with friends. The East Coast outlet took over the space of the now-defunct Rabbit Carrot Gun recently, and you can’t miss the bright cherry lime green painted on its walls along one of the most iconic stretches of shop houses in Singapore. The interior space is casual and homely, and there are also outdoor sheltered tables along the corridor if you want to soak in more of the Katong vibes. The Food The menu at Lime House East Coast is largely the same Jiak Chuan, except that it is also opened during lunch hours on weekdays. We love the Bajan Fish Tacos (S$18) which is essentially a Trinidad roti with fried snapper topped with homemade mango chutney and spices. It is mildly spicy, where the fried fish is delicious.
