The Place Did we smell a silent dim sum battle creeping up in Marine Parade Central? Located in Marine Parade Central Market & Food Centre, I noticed a new hawker stall recently and that is Feng Xin Dim Sum (凤心点心). On first glance, the offerings are very similar to Neptune Hong Kong Dim Sum which is just a few units down. I had a quick chat with the staff and realised that they were ex-staff of Neptune Hong Kong Dim Sum, which is a surprising fact given the close proximity of both stalls in the same hawker centre. The Food There are 20 dim sum items on the menu, which is easy to spot from the menu board in clear images and prices. Prices are generally reasonable from S$2.60 for the Chicken Century Egg Porridge to S$5 for the Shanghai Fried Dumpling, which is the most expensive item here. I decided to go for the Siew Mai (S$4), Deep Fried Shrimps Dumpling (S$4.80) and Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun (S$4). The Siew Mai comes with a decent filling though it is not that big.
