The Place Balestier seems to be home for Tau Sar Piah in Singapore, with various brands dotting the stretch of the 1.6km long Balestier Road. Popular brands include 603 Tau Sar Piah, the ever-popular Loong Fatt Tau Sar Piah, the hidden gem House of Tau Sar Piah, and the now-defunct 611 Tau Sar Piah which also went by the name Little Red Shop.  603 started back at Rail Mall at Bukit Timah in 1995, and subsequently moved to its present location at 603 Balestier Road. A visit to 603, especially in the morning, you will see the kitchen packed with bakers baking the shop’s popular Tau Sar Piah and other fresh bakes – all handmade daily.  The Food Whilst other Tau Sar Piah stores focus on the 2 traditional flavours, Salty and Sweet, 603 listed 15 flavours on their website and depending on your visiting time, most of these flavours ought to be available in store too!  Strongly recommend you to give their Black Sesame, Coffee, Green Tea and Durian Tau Sar Piah a try! No, these are not gimmicky promotional flavours, 603 has been selling these for as long as I recalled when I started patronising from them decades back.  The Tau Sar Piah selections are priced reasonably between S$0.90 to S$1.10, though more exotic flavours such as Cheese and Yuan Yang Tau Sar Piah can costs [...]
