Food Review: Moustache Lee At Ang Mo Kio | Affordable Taiwanese Cuisine In A Coffeeshop

The Place Located in Aik Leong Eating House in Ang Mo Kio, Moustache Lee is a causal Taiwanese hawker stall in a coffeeshop that sells affordable Taiwanese dishes. It is a venture by two young pals, and the stall is just a few months old. I managed to check it out last week for my takeaway lunch.  The Food With a concise menu, every dish is less than S$6 with options like Braised Pork Bento (S$5.90), Mee Sua (S$4), and sides like Taiwan Sausage (S$3) and Salt & Pepper Chicken (S$4/S$5).  We had the Braised Pork Bento which also comes with slices of Taiwan sausage and braised egg. Good value for the portion and mix of ingredients, and the braised pork is not too bad. My gripe is that the rice could do with more sauce as much of it was dry.  I also had the Mee Sua, which is topped with shredded chicken instead of the typical oysters. I personally don’t really like the taste of the Mee Sua as I find it too watery.  Perhaps my favourite is the Salt & Pepper Chicken, a popcorn chicken inspired version of the traditional Taiwanese snack.
