The Place Belgium food is not something which typically comes to my mind when it comes to European cuisine and Gazette was one random dinner option recently. Located at Telok Ayer Street, the Belgium restaurant is right beside Meatsmith, with a simple interior which feels more like a gastrobar than a restaurant proper. The Food The menu at Gazette is quite concise and offers mainly starters, mains and desserts. It is hard for me to define what exactly is Belgium cuisine as I can only think of Belgium fries, waffles and mussels based on my vague impression of Belgium travel days. And if that is the case, the above dishes are all found on the menu at Gazette. I started with the Homemade Cheese Croquette (S$20/2 pieces), characterised by its fried golden texture and there was a slightly melted cheese texture as I sliced through it. You can’t go wrong with this starter! Something more adventurous I had would be the Homemade Pork Pate (S$22) served with pickles, onion confit and toast.
