The Place Serangoon North has some of the best food in the North-East of Singapore. Located in the same coffeeshop as Xiao Di Fried Prawn Noodle, Pin Ji Fishball Minced Meat Noodles is a two months old stall run by a young generation of hawkers. I visited the stall on a Sunday morning, and there was a decent queue where you can’t miss the bright white signboard of the stall. The Food Only minced meat noodles is served at Small (S$3), Medium (S$4) or Large (S$5). One of the reasons I wanted to check out Pin Ji is because I found out that it served ‘herh keow‘ in its noodles, a type of fish dumpling which is rare to come across these days. This reminds me of Song Kee Fishball Noodle which is most famously known for its delicious ‘herh keow‘. I ordered the large portion as only the S$5 order comes with ‘herh keow‘. First on the noodles, I do like the springy texture. It is slightly on the tough side so you may not like it if you like your noodles soft.
