The Place Located right beside Yuhua Village Market & Food Centre, Zai Shun Curry Fish Head is a popular stall within a coffeeshop which got featured on the Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list in the past two years. It only operates from morning till early afternoon, and the stall serves predominantly porridge and a wide variety of local Zi Char style dishes. The Food I went for a meal with a big group of foodies, hence we managed to try a good mix of dishes. Contrary to popular belief or my own initial perception from the stall’s name, the curry fish head is not the best signature dish here. The Steamed Red Garoupa is definitely a dish which is good for sharing. I like the fresh flavour of the fish, along with the black sauce it is soaked in. An alternative to the Red Garoupa is the Steamed Long Dan in Fermented Beancurd & Pork Lard Sauce. This is a much more unique option in terms of the sauce, which is very tasty on its own.
