The Place Located in the heart of Tanjong Pagar, Seoul Noodle Shop is a popular casual Korean restaurant which often spot a long queue in this enclave. The Korean restaurant specialises in “kalguksu” which is traditional Korean knife-cut noodle dish, and it is apparently the first kalguksu specialty restaurant in Singapore. The brand started off as a pop-up concept in Tanglin Mall’s Market Blue and its popularity also stems from the fact that it is by Korean celebrity chefs Lee Won-il and Hong Seok Cheon. There are three outlets for now at Tanglin Mall, Tanjong Pagar, and Suntec City. The Tanjong Pagar outlet I visited for dinner spots a casual setting with a simple, no frills and clean aesthetic. The dining ambience is warm, with soft lighting and wooden tables. The Food A variety of classic Korean comfort food with a focus on noodles. The knife-cut noodle (Kalguksu) at Seoul Noodle Shop is the main highlight where there are a variety of flavours to choose from. The noodles are handmade with a chewy texture.
