The Place I first came across Homeburg Bangkok on Instagram, and I was intrigued by the idea of a burger Omakase meal. A dining concept by Japanese-Thai Chef owner Taiki Rattanapong Tsubota, Homeburg is literally a hole-in-the-wall dining restaurant hidden in a back alley of Sukhumvit 51 Alley where the space is located on level three. It is an eight-seater counter setting and has been around for about one and a half years. It feels like private home dining more than a typical restaurant up. The intimate dining size also makes it very easy to ask the chef any questions about each dish, and I like that close interaction with the kitchen. The Food There is only one fixed menu, and it is the same for lunch and dinner. Consistency is one important philosophy for chef Taiki, and it is evident from the display of apparatus used to prepare each ingredient. Even the duration of the meal is consistent, where I was told the meal would take one hour and five minutes, it was precisely that duration by the end of my last course.
