Food Review: Barood At Tras Street | Modern Japanese-Indian Dining Bar In Tanjong Pagar

The Place I love my dining experience previously at Revolver restaurant and Barood is a newly opened modern izakaya dining bar concept by the same team behind Revolver and the Michelin-starred Hamamoto. Tucked away on the second floor of Revolver’s shophouse, the interior of Barood is inspired by the rich Moorish influences of 1960s Paris along with intimate lighting.  The dining shophouse space is not huge, and there are pockets of cosy corners perfect for couples or small groups.  The Food There is a spirit collection of over 200 labels, with a focus on single malts, tequilas and mezcals. The food menu is bar bites centric, where you can expect Japanese twists in the Indian tapas dishes.  I started with the Bombay Uni Toast (S$28), a bite-size tapas with tamarind and bread pakora. The flavour of the spices are quite rich, which mask the taste of the Uni itself.  The Butter Chicken Paratini (S$22) is one of the more substantial dishes on the menu and is also my favourite.
