The Place From the brand owners of Awfully Chocolate and Sinpopo Brand, Supperman Speakeasy & Grill is a newly opened restaurant in Katong/Joo Chiat which took over the space of what used to be Sinpopo. The casual dining space has a semi-air-conditioned dining area, as well as more indoor seats in a separate dining section towards the back of the space. The Food The menu focuses on grills, and is quite concise in terms of the starters, mains and side dishes. I started with the Supperman’s Great Start (S$15) which comes with charcoal grilled focaccia baked in-house, where it is served with beef butter and paired with a tasting portion of house wine. The fresh focaccia is quite good, though the wine portion (as its name suggests, tasting portion) could have been half glass at least. For meats, there are different cuts of premium Black Angus and aged Argentinian steak, all finished on a high-flame grill. Expect the likes of The Tomahawk (S$118), Whole Rib (S$48), Black Angus Ribeye Steak (S$38) and seafood selections such as Blackened Seabass ($22) with crisp skin and Open-fire Crayfish (S$32).
