The Place The sister bar of Taiga restaurant, I checked out the newly opened The House Bar where its entrance is as inconspicuous as Taiga. The interior of The House Bar is dim and classy, where it is a boutique size lounge with a private room. I managed to get a table right at the bar counter, and my eyes were fixated on the while mountain wall display of bottles. The Food There is a wide collection of sakes, from “La Isojiman” Junmai Daijingyo to the Ohmine x Sake Storm Cowboy Natural Press. The spirit selection includes a range of Japanese whiskies — the likes of Yamazaki 18-year-old and the Hibiki 21-year-old — lined up at the bar, alongside Macallans and Samarolis. For bar bites, I am most amazed by how it is all prepared within the confined space of the open kitchen. I started with the refreshing Shizuoka Amera Tomato with Artic Salt (S$16), before proceeding to the Fatty Tuna Aburi with Yuzu (S$45).
